Students are exposed to a variety of art forms as they observe a historical art piece, learn about the artist and the time period and then create their own artwork focusing on the technique and/or style studied. Our lessons focus primarily on how art has been used religiously—from the Tabernacle to cathedrals. Students also continue to develop their drawing skills by keeping sketch journals. Student work is displayed throughout the year and participation in in-school runoffs—art categories—for MAACS BAFA is a class requirement.
