The chief focus of the speech and drama department is to help students learn to communicate more effectively. In accomplishing this goal, we trust that they will then use this new foundation to help strengthen their ministry for the Lord. In Advanced Speech and JH Speech, students are taught the importance of communicating both their own ideas (public speaking) and the ideas of others (interpretative speaking) to their audience. In Drama, students learn how to produce as well as act in a play. They also are introduced to work in choric speaking and readers’ theatre.
Anne of Green Gables

This year the Drama Class had the opportunity to present L.M. Montgomery's classic story of Anne of Green Gables. This is a wonderful play of a young orphan girl and her adventures as she comes to live in a home on Prince Edward Island. While growing up at Green Gables, she finally is shown love and learns how to show love in return. This delightful story was an exciting presentation for the audience as each character's emotions and thoughts were conveyed in striking detail by the actors and actresses. This will be a special memory for those involved for years to come.
